MAR-TECH designs supplies and installs exhaust systems to suit any specific needs of a marine vessel.
All parts incorporated in these systems are of top quality and latest technology.
Silencers to fit the specific engine characteristics are made of top quality steel or high
temperature GRP produced by filament winding technique. Rubber exhaust hoses are approved
by Lloyd’s or other marine societies and installation is performed to best marine practice.
Exhaust systems are offered for new built vessels or for improving noise characteristics
of an existing vessel.

In addition MAR-TECH offers Exhaust temperature Alarm systems in order to prevent damages
caused by insufficient cooling of the exhaust gases.
Marine diesel exhaust systems are designed to withstand temperatures of about 100°C to 120°C.
The exhaust gases, however, exit the engine manifold at about  500°C. Free flow of cooling
water from the engine is used to cool the gases and reduce their volume to achieve proper noise silencing.
This flow can be occasionally cut off, by some unexpected intrusion or problem and cause the
exhaust temperature to rise immediately to around 400°C. The exhaust will overheat and may be seriously
damaged within a short time. In most situations Exhaust Alert will warn the operator before serious damage occurs.

The high system sensitivity and response are due to the fact that it measures temperature
inside the exhaust system and not on the outside, waiting for the heat to work through the hose
to reach the sensor (which happens actually after damage occurs).
